The 3-Legged Thing Legends Mike Carbon Fiber Tripod with AirHed Cine-V Fluid Head System includes the Mike carbon fibre tripod legs and AirHed Cine-V fluid head, which features a Manfrotto 501-style compatible sliding baseplate. The flat base head features fixed pan and tilt drag and fits on top of the tripod legs with a levelling base that has integrated fluid drag adjustments. The system has a height range of 9.09 to 61.8″ and supports up to 22 pounds of camera and camera rig.
This combination allows you to quickly compensate for uneven surfaces using the tripod legs’ levelling base. The system features two bubble levels, and the flat base of the AirHed allows the fluid head to sit lower than if it were a bowl base fluid head when mounted on other platforms such as sliders and car mounts. The Mike tripod legs feature eight-layer carbon fibre construction, and each leg can detach from the levelling base for use as a monopod or boom arm. Optional accessories allow you to turn the levelling base into a hi-hat to get remarkably low-angled shots with the AirHed Cine.
The metallic slate grey 3-Legged Thing Mike Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs with Quick Leveling Base is part of the Legends range and is for flat-base tripod heads with either a 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 threaded mounting hole. It is a carbon fibre levelling-base tripod, with friction control on the underside to finely adjust the position of the levelling base. The 3-section removable legs have a height range of 5.3 to 58.1″ and are made from eight layers of carbon fibre and feature twist-lock leg locks with an improved shim system for greater strength.
The Rapid-Latch Angle adjustment system allows you to quickly set the angle of each leg independently, even when wearing gloves. All three legs are detachable, allowing you to use the quick levelling system, with optional accessories, as the base for a high hat for low-angle shots, or for working on a tabletop setup. Each detached leg can be used as a monopod or as a boom arm.
The compact, yet robust, 3-legged Thing AirHed Cine-V with Manfrotto 501-Type Video Plate weighs less than 1.25 pounds and can support cameras and rigs weighing up to 22 pounds. The head has a fixed fluid drag system and fixed counterbalance, with 165° of tilt and 360° of pan rotation for smooth camera moves. There are separate pan and tilt lock levers for locked-off shots, and the pan axis is indexed for repeatability.
The included plate features a locating pin and both 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 camera tie-down screws4.68. The AirHed Cine-V accepts Manfrotto 501-type quick-release plates, making it easy to find spares or replacements. The integrated bubble levels aid in setting up level horizons. The adjustable pan handle can be mounted onto either side of the video head using the built-in ARRI-compatible rosettes. The AirHed Cine-V can be mounted on ball adapters, tripods, and other camera supports via the 3/8″-16 threaded female receiver on the magnesium alloy flat base.
