UV Filters
UV filters are used in photography to reduce the level of ultraviolet light that filters through to the film. Photographic films have mostly been sensitive to UV light. This causes haziness or fogginess, and in the case of colour films, a bluish hue. A UV blocking filter if used, would make transparent to visible light while filtering out shorter ultraviolet wavelengths. Newer photographic film and digital cameras are highly insensitive to UV wavelengths. Not sure if you need a UV filter? Ask one the friendly and very knowledgeable staff at Leederville Cameras.
