The technical details behind this camera
FujiFilm X-T30 Mark II Body Only Compact System Camera has a compact body that weighs just 378g, and features technology that boasts the highest performance in the history of the X Series: a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, high-speed X-Processor 4 image-processing engine, and AF performance equivalent to the flagship model, X-T4. The fast and highly accurate Phase Detection AF with a focusing speed as fast as 0.02 seconds is complemented with an exceptional capability to track a moving subject, offering the ability to capture a decisive moment in a wide variety of shooting situations. The new camera can also use phase-detection AF in near darkness conditions at -7.0EY¹ to accurately capture a subject in low light and indoors, and supports high-speed video recording with smooth and tonality-rich 4K/ 30P and full-HD/240P slow-motion modes. The X-T30 II comes with 18 Film Simulation modes, including “Classic Neg,” ideal for street photography, and “ETERNA Bleach Bypass”, which faithfully simulates the film processing technique of the same name. The expanded lineup allows users to choose a mode that suits each situation. The algorithm for the popular Scene Recognition “AUTO” mode has been updated so the camera can automatically identify the shooting scene based on the subject matter and applies the latest image processing technology to adjust to optimum settings, making it easy for users to capture beautiful pictures. Users no longer have to fiddle with multiple functions as the camera has the ability to switch to clear and vivid settings for landscapes, provides beautiful skin tone for portraits, while accentuating blue skies and nature in backgrounds, and even controlling highlight and shadow clippings in back-lit situations.
Fast and highly-accurate AF performance and advanced burst shooting capability to capture decisive moments in a variety of situations
The X-T30 II features the 26.1MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 4” sensor and the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” to enable advanced phase-detection AF across the frame (approximately 100%). The X Series’ AF speed of 0.02 seconds and the AF tracking performance enables users to capture any moment, ensuring they never miss a shot. The camera delivers burst shooting at up to 8fps in the mechanical shutter mode and blackout-free burst shooting up to 20fps in the electronic shutter mode, or 30fps in the cropped mode. The camera can also use phase-detection AF in near darkness conditions at -7.0EY’ to capture accurately a subject in low-light and dark rooms. The AF system uses the latest algorithm to achieve improved AF tracking compared to the previous model. It can reliably track a subject that is moving towards or away from the camera. Its Face/ Eye AF function keeps a subject’s face/ eyes in focus in portrait photography even when the subject is moving.
Diverse Film Simulations and evolved AUTO function to deliver exceptional image quality
The X-T30 II comes with 18 Film Simulations that emulate unique sets of colours, tonality and saturation levels, including “Classic Neg.” inspired by colour negative films typically used in snapshots capturing day-to-day scenes, and “ETERNA Bleach Bypass,” which faithfully simulates the film processing technique of the same name. The expanded lineup of Film Simulations allows users to choose a mode that suits each shooting situation. The algorithm for the popular SR AUTO“ mode has been improved compared to the previous model. The AUTO mode automatically applies the Color Chrome Effect (blue), Clarity, D Range Priority, and other settings according to prevailing conditions, making landscapes clearer and more vivid, reproducing beautiful skin tones while accentuating blue skies and natural background in portraiture, and controlling highlight and shadows in backlit situations. The camera’s AUTO function makes it easier than ever to obtain beautiful pictures optimised for individual conditions.
Extensive video-recording functions
The X-T30 II can output 4K/ 30P video at 10 bit 4:2:2 to HDMI and 8 bit 4:2:0 onto an SD card. Furthermore, it now supports Full HD/ 240P high-speed video, capable of replaying a momentary action of a fast-moving subject in up to 10x slow motion.
Excellent operability to meet a wide range of needs
The camera caters to a wide range of shooting styles including a full-scale manual shooting using the shutter speed dial on the top panel, and quick snaps in the AUTO mode. The shutter speed dial allows users to check a current setting so that they can prepare for the next shot even while the camera is turned off. The AUTO mode can be activated with a single-action operation of the Auto Mode Selector switch on the top panel. The new high-definition 1.62-million-dot LCD touch screen displays subject matter in amazing clarity whether in shooting or playback modes.
