The Ricoh GP-1 GPS Unit with Electronic Compass is compatible with the Ricoh G700SE digital camera and allows you to directly embed location information to the metadata of your image or movie files. The electronic compass support will also embed the direction from which your images were taken. While the GP-1 is an auxiliary unit, it does not affect the IP64 waterproofing and dirt resistant certification of the camera. It can also withstand drops from 3.9′ / 1.2m.
The GPS accuracy is rated at 2D RMS (approximately 16.4′ / 5m) during clear weather with no obstructions or severe elevation changes. The digital compass’ accuracy is rated within +/- 6° from magnetic north.
